Last week we launched our exciting #SugarYouNot campaign for Hey Like Wow.
When we brainstormed campaign ideas we were clear on what we wanted to achieve. Not only did we want to underscore the fact that our vitamin waters are completely sugar free; more importantly we are aiming to inspire families to start thinking seriously about how much sugar they consume on a daily basis.
The bottom line is that consuming too much refined sugar isn’t good. It’s estimated that 2.6 million people have prediabetes in the UK. By 2025, this number will jump to 5 million!
Admittedly, the #SugarYouNot hashtag is an unorthodox play on words for what is very much a family friendly product. However, the team felt we needed to grab the attention of adults responsible for looking after their family’s nutritional needs.
By shining a spotlight on what too much refined sugar does to the body we hope to encourage positive lifestyle changes and better choices to improve the health and well-being of current and future generations.
After this campaign, if we can make people across the UK pause for thought and think about what they are putting into their shopping baskets, then we would have done our job to raise awareness about what is fast becoming an increasingly critical issue.
